"Hi, I’m Sarah Jumaah, an Iraqi architect and proud 2011 graduate of the Azad University Dubai Branch. Starting in 2006, I was excited but nervous—it felt like moving to a new country since my brother, a friend, and I were the only Arab students at the time. But from week one, the warm welcome from staff, professors, and classmates made me feel at home.
The program at Azad University balanced creative design with practical engineering, teaching me that architecture is as much about function as beauty. Professors like Dr. Ghobadian and Dr. Bukhtiar guided us through site visits, lectures, and conferences that prepared us for real-world challenges.
After graduation, I worked with global companies like AECOM and Azizi Developments, where my skills stood out. Now, with over a decade of experience, I run my own architecture and engineering firm, and I owe much of my success to Azad. Thank you for the education and unforgettable memories!"
Student Societies
Azad University Dubai Branch is home to a very proactive community of students officers. We have seen football and volleyball societies initiated by students who were interested in building on their hobbies.

Student Common Room
Azad University values students’ mental and emotional wellbeing. Our student common room comes fully equipped with PS4s with 4 controllers, pin-pong table, snooker and other amenities for students to take their mind off their studies and recharge.
